Your word I have
hidden in my
I might not sin against You!
Psalms 119:11 (NKJV)
International Church daily devotional,
“For the [true] love of God is this:
that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of
His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not
irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous)” (1 John 5:3,
The Word of God and the orders He gives you in
your spirit are not burdensome or oppressive. Everything He
tells you is for your good and for your victory. Only He knows
what it takes to live in victory in this present evil world. He
can do the seemingly impossible, even in the middle of darkness,
and if you follow His instructions, commands and precepts from
His Word, you can too!
“Yea, and all that
will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2
If you are going to live for God, you are
going to run into persecution somewhere along the way. The devil
is going to make sure of it! The more you grow to be like Jesus
and the more God’s glory is revealed through your life, the
bigger threat you are to Satan’s kingdom. When persecution comes
your way, rejoice and be glad. It will not hurt you if you
remain in joy.
“Be thou strong and very
courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the
law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to
the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper
whithersoever thou goests” (Joshua 1:7).
If you are
going to fight the good fight of faith, you must continually
draw courage from the Word. Like Joshua, allow the Word to
change you from a coward to an overcomer. Then, you can march
into battle and slay the giants in your land.
“Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the
way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared”
When you are in God’s will, He sends
angels ahead of you to guard you; therefore, don’t worry or be
fearful! He has already made provisions for your safety and to
keep you on the right track.
“I am the
vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing” (John 15:5)
Abiding in Jesus isn’t something
that comes automatically. It’s a lifestyle that involves
discipline and effort. Make a decision to give your self to the
things of God. Surround yourself with His Word. Listen to
preaching and teaching tapes while you’re getting dressed,
driving to work, preparing dinner, exercising, cleaning house
and when you go to bed. Listen to the Word of God anytime,
“Unto what is the kingdom of
God lie? And whereunto shall I resemble it? It is like a grain
of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and
it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged
in the branches of it” (Luke 13:18-19).
A seed planted in
the ground doesn’t grow all at once. It grows a little all the
time until it accomplishes what it was created to do. The same
is true for you when it comes to your growth in the kingdom of
God. You grow constantly, 24 hours a day, a little all the time
until you fulfill God’s plan for your life.
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship
of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).
More than anything else, God wants you to fellowship with Him.
It would mean so much for you to just go to God seeking His face
rather than His hand. Your heavenly Father longs for you to just
want to be with Him. Draw near to God today and partake of His
“The cares and anxieties of
the world, and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and
delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the
craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and
choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless” (Mark
Seemingly innocent things in your everyday
life can stunt your spiritual growth. Don’t become entangled
with the affairs of life to the point that you are neglecting
your commitment to God. Nothing is as important as spending time
in prayer and in the Word with the Father.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his
life for his friends” (John 15:13).
Jesus laid down His
life for you by dying. However, He is asking you to lay down
your life in a different way. Instead of living for yourself,
you live to please God. You allow your life to be guided by His
love. If love leads you to the person next door, you follow.
When love calls you to intercede for someone in need, you yield.
Commit today to lay down your own life and take up the love
“From the days of John the Baptist
until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the
violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).
The devil is
not going to let go of any area of your life—health, finances or
anything else—without a fight. He is not going to give it up
unless you force him. Don’t sit there and allow him to steal the
blessings of God out from under you. Get violent enough to do
something about it! Get so committed to the things of God that
you will withstand any attempt to take them away from you.
“I thank my God always on your behalf, for
the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; that in
every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all
knowledge” (1 Corinthians 1:4-5).
Because you were
called into fellowship with Jesus, everything you do and say has
the potential to be enriched, or made fuller and more
meaningful, by Him. Expand your knowledge and success by tapping
into God’s anointing.
by love” (Galatians 5:6).
God wants you to have His
power, but first He wants to be sure that you will use it in
love. If you want God to empower you to do great damage to the
kingdom of darkness, you must focus on love—pursue it, practice
it, study it and grow up in it. Then you will see His power
operating through you like never before!
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the
flesh” (2 Corinthians 10:3).
So many Believers are
losing the battles in their lives because they are fighting the
wrong enemy. Satan and his demons are your enemies. They are
behind every personal affront you encounter. The next time
someone hurts you, don’t let yourself get sidetracked into
fighting them. Instead, bind the spirit behind them! Put flesh
and blood battles behind and war with the weapons of the Spirit.
“I have written unto you, young men,
because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and
ye have overcome the wicked one” (1 John 2:14).
have been feeling like a failure lately, renew your mind to the
Word of God that says you’re a success. Every time a challenge
comes up, respond by saying, “Praise God, I can beat this thing
because I’m an overcome in Jesus!” Let the Word abide in your
heart. It will make you a winner!
“Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth
greatly in his commandments. He shall not be afraid of evil
tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord” (Psalm
Don’t wait until disaster strikes before you
start trying to establish yourself on the Word. If you make a
habit of delighting in God’s Word, you will have a heart that is
fixed. Further, you will be able to make it through disastrous
situations without losing your balance. Establish yourself now,
and be ready before the devil breaks into your house.
“Blessed art thou...for flesh and blood hath not
revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven”
In the natural we learn by using our
five senses and our logical abilities to gather information and
sot it out. In the Kingdom of God, there’s another kind of
knowing. It is one that works its way from the inside out
instead of from the outside in. It’s called revelation
knowledge. If you are hungry for revelation knowledge, position
yourself to receive it by meditating the Word, praying, and
fellowshipping with the Lord.
be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as
well-beloved children [imitate their father]” (Ephesians 5:1,
God used words that were directly related to His
inner image to create the universe. Since you are made in His
image and likeness, you have the same ability to create new
things and change old things. What you need to use as the basis
for your inner image and for the words you speak is the Word of
God. It will work for you to change your life and circumstances
as surely as it did for your heavenly Father.
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but
the greatest of these is charity” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
God is love. Therefore, when you release love into a
situation, you have released God into it. He becomes responsible
for its success. Release love on the stubborn problems in your
life. It’s the one solution they will not be able to resist.
“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear
much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples)” (John 15:8).
The fruit Jesus is referring to is lives being restored and
healed by the power of God. When Believers minister healing and
deliverance like Jesus on the earth, that brings God glory.
Let’s impress the world with Jesus and give God the glory today!
“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and
anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you,
with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,
forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath
forgiven you” (Ephesians 4:31-32).
Don’t be critical of
other members of the body of Christ. It only weakens us all.
Instead, allow the power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit to
remove any insensitivity. Then, make a commitment to live the
law of love.
“Be ye not unequally yoked
together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath
light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14).
God does not
want you to think, speak, act like or depend on the world.
Position yourself in righteousness and separate yourself to God
so He can fulfill His role as your Heavenly Father!
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of
flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same;
that through death he might destroy him that had the power of
death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of
death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews
Fear and faith are opposing spiritual forces.
Jesus came to set you free from fear. Constantly thinking about
God’s ever-present love for you will cast fear out of your life
“Now thanks be unto God, which
always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the
savour of his knowledge by us in every place” (2 Corinthians
No matter what trouble you may experience in your
life, don’t allow it to triumph over you. Your victory is in
Christ, Who enables you to overcome every negative thing that
comes your way. When you maintain the victory that Christ won
for you, the knowledge of God’s goodness will spread to all
“Let them shout for joy, and be
glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say
continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in
the prosperity of his servant” (Psalm 35:27).
believe the Devil’s lies; it is God’s will for you to prosper!
He enjoys it when His children lay hold of His promises.
“Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto
them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even
their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they
know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and
disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate” (Titus
A rebellious person is unable to perceive the
truth of God’s Word. His mind exists in a perpetual state of
darkness and sin. Cleanse your mind daily by washing it with
“A soft answer turneth away
wrath: but grievous words stir up anger” (Proverbs 15:1).
Choose your words carefully, because they determine how
people respond to you. Remember, speaking kindly in response to
those who speak harshly to you will calm the situation and
produce a more favorable outcome.
day the Lord thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes
and judgements: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all
thine heart, and with all thy soul” (Deuteronomy 26:16).
In order to experience true power in your life, you must
obey God when He speaks to you. Obedience is compliance with
God’s commands, restrictions and instructions. It means that you
hear God’s voice and immediately act out on what He says to do.
Serve God wholeheartedly and watch Him show out in your life!
“Who his own self bare our sins in his
own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live
unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter
Jesus has already paid the price for your healing
and deliverance from every type of sickness and disease. He was
made sickness and sin so that you could be made healed and be
the righteousness of God. Lay hold of what’s yours!
“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent
forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem
them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption
of sons” (Galatians 4:4-5).
God sent Jesus to earth at
an appointed season. You, too, were born at the right time;
you’re not a mistake. God has a plan just for you for this
specific point in history. Seek His face daily to uncover His
path for your life.
“For we wrestle not
against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Don’t waste your time and energy fighting natural
conditions instead of supernatural causes. You are a soldier in
God’s army and your battles are not of flesh and blood, but of
the spirit. Therefore, put on your full armor and take your
place in the ranks of the faithful.
