Abraham - Friend Of God

Abraham lived half way from Adam to Christ. He lived five hundred years after the flood.
When the ark rested on Mount Ararat, the peoples of the earth began to multiply with great rapidity.  Abraham’s father, Tera, dwelt in Mesopotamia.

The land of Mesopotamia was given over to idolatry. It was such an environment that Abraham was born. it was there that the glory of the Lord appeared unto him.

Get thee out.  Were those words given to Abraham alone? Has not God said unto us, “Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord?”

When God leads us out of one thing, He will lead us in to something better. We are not asked to give up something for nothing, but we give up one inheritance, that we may receive a better and more enduring inheritance.
